Applying to work for PwC Middle East out of curiosity, led Dima to experience a career she never imagined. Disliking routine, and attracted to new challenges and opportunities, she found PwC to be the perfect place to enable her career aspirations and preferences.
Joining PwC Middle East has been a turning point in my life - I applied because I was very curious about what working for an organisation like PwC feels like and wanted to know more about the industry and what it has to offer. I’m a lawyer by degree and pursued an MBA shortly after, so you can say I have zero financial background, but my experience with PwC has given me the opportunity to diversify my roles and responsibilities.
I began my career in PwC with the Assurance team in Lebanon before moving to Deals in September 2015 as part of the Sales and Purchase Agreement team within Transaction Services (TS), and within months I started conducting financial due diligence projects. As part of my work, I was able to travel to more than six countries and worked across several business units, which made my work more interesting, fun and inspiring.
I got the opportunity to travel to the KSA in 2017 and it was one of my most enriching experiences. I wanted to achieve a new milestone and be exposed to something new, to know more about the Kingdom and to have this experience of travelling and working with a big, diverse team - and I definitely got everything I was looking for.
In addition, I’m a second year participant in the EMEA EDGE programme, an exciting graduate programme, designed and delivered by the Deals Line of Service across Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Through this programme, I was able to work with international teams of high-performing and talented dealmakers, which has given me access to cutting-edge technology in an effort to solve some of the most demanding challenges in the Deals environment. Even though I joined when it was all set up remotely, I’m so excited to attend this year’s event in Spain - in person! Networking has been unbelievable, meeting colleagues across the globe (UK, France, Kenya, Russia, and so many other countries) which played a big role in building on my Global Acumen, Leadership and Relationship core values.
A crucial element of keeping up with my work is also focusing on my wellbeing and mental health. To make sure I maintain this positive and energetic outlook, I enjoy my time with my triplet sisters and my nieces and nephews, exercise at least three times a week, watch an episode of my favorite sitcom before I sleep, as well as travel whenever possible.
