In 2023, digital economy taxation rules came into force. They apply to digital platforms and enterprises operating in the online space, which are required to report data related to revenue from their platforms. The purpose of this information reporting and digital tax is to ensure that individual sectors pay their fair share of sales tax, thus contributing to the support of society. The rules apply to digital platforms located within and outside of the EU.
