Status of the file as of July 24, 2026

On July 24, 2026, the Receiver filed its First Report to the Court (“First Report”). The purpose of the First Report is to, among other things:

  • Provide background information on the Company, its assets, and its creditors;
  • Advise the Court of the activities of the Receiver since its appointment and seek approval of those activities; 
  • Seek an order approving the sale of the Property to Westrich Management Ltd. or its nominee (“Westrich”) as contemplated in a purchase and sale agreement signed as of July 20, 2026 (the “Westrich PSA”);
  • Seek an order approving the assignment of the Leases and Contracts pursuant to the Westrich PSA, and disclaiming the Unassigned Contracts (each as defined in the Westrich PSA);
  • Seek approval of the fees and disbursements of the Receiver, its legal counsel, and the Real Assets Team;
  • and, Seek an order to temporarily seal the Confidential Addendum pending completion of the sale of the Property, or upon further Order by the Court.

Status of file as at July 7, 2025

On July 7, 2025, an order was granted by the Court of King's Bench of Alberta ("Receivership Order") appointing PricewaterhouseCoopers Inc., LIT as receiver of Edmonton City Centre Inc. (“ECC”). A copy of the Receivership Order can be accessed under the Court Orders tab of this website.
