A global leader in cloud-based, AI-powered supply chain management solutions set out to transform its HR operations using SAP SuccessFactors modules. With systems scattered and governance processes still largely manual, the company saw an opportunity: build a unified HR infrastructure to streamline processes across the business—and improve data accuracy and integration along the way.
Working with PwC Canada, the company launched a transformation anchored in its strategic vision and long-term goals. Together, we focused on key areas like change management, process improvement, and benefits realization—breaking down the complexity into a series of practical, achievable projects. Each step moved the company closer to its broader ambitions.
As the company grew, HR operations couldn't keep up—weighed down by inconsistent processes, unreliable data and third-party systems that didn't connect.
The goal: modernize infrastructure to support global scale, sharpen reporting and make self-service simpler. But with manual governance and disconnected systems still in play, the result was constant data upkeeping, rising security concerns and too many steps to get anything done.
The project began with an in-depth review of the company's current HR operations to uncover pain points and opportunities for improvement. The groundwork set the stage for a phased implementation of SAP SuccessFactors.
Over several months, we worked collaboratively with the company to implement SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central; Performance and Goals; Career Development and Succession Planning; Compensation; Onboarding 1.0; and integration services, spanning 11 countries.
After the initial implementation, we continued to support and enhance the HR systems to help it keep pace with the company's needs. This included continuous improvements and adapting the system to accommodate future growth.
In the next phase, we focused on expanding the system further—implementing Onboarding 2.0, global pay structures, and integrations with other systems. We also supported enhancements to the Performance and Goals and Succession Development Planning solutions to align them with the company’s evolving needs.
The transformation delivered measurable results across systems, experience and business performance:
A better employee experience: Upgraded SAP SuccessFactors modules improved the user interface and overall usability—boosting satisfaction and engagement.
Faster, smoother onboarding: Onboarding 2.0 helped new hires ramp up more quickly and start stronger—improving early connection with the company.
Integrated and centralized data: IIntegration between SAP SuccessFactors modules and other systems enabled a unified, consistent view of data.
Scalable HR tools: Configurable and customizable SAP SuccessFactors modules provided the flexibility to adapt to changing business requirements and support future growth.
The collaboration between PwC Canada and the client delivered a scalable solution that supported the company's global growth, improved HR processes and elevated employee experience. The long-term relationship continues to evolve—driving enhancements as the company grows. For other companies looking to achieve similar outcomes through HR transformation, three factors stood out in our client's success:
