As PwC Canada’s Chief Risk & Regulatory Officer, Michael Paterson is responsible for embedding the firm’s approach to risk management in our strategy and dealing with all quality matters. He leads the firm’s Risk, Quality, Independence, and Legal functions which are all critical to building trust in today’s dynamic business landscape.
With more than 25 years of experience serving clients as an Assurance professional and in various leadership roles, Michael brings a focus on solving complex problems and building high performing teams. He is passionate about helping our firm and our clients build confidence and resilience during times of change.
Before taking on this role in 2022, Michael was instrumental in driving profession-leading quality and profitable growth across PwC’s Assurance practice as PwC Canada’s National Assurance Leader and Asia Pacific Americas Assurance Leader.
Michael is a Fellow of the Chartered Professional Accountants (FCPA, FCA). He earned his CPA, CA designation in 2000 and is a proud alumnus of Wilfred Laurier University. He was admitted to partnership in 2009.
As a father of three, Michael is actively involved in his family’s local sport activities. He enjoys being active, participating in team sports and is a strong supporter of his local community, including St. Joseph’s Healthcare Centre.
