Josh Draves is a Partner in PwC's Deals practice, specializing in M&A integrations and separations. He advises leadership teams, boards, and investors on translating deal strategy into measurable results - guiding organizations from diligence through integration, carve-outs, business transformation, and value realization.
With more than 10 years of transaction experience and a track record spanning 50+ transactions ranging from $20M to $80B, he has advised clients across the Chemicals, Technology, Pharmaceuticals, and Retail sectors in Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom. His work covers the full deal lifecycle on both buy-side and sell-side transactions.
He serves clients as an embedded, on-the-ground advisor working directly with leadership and management teams. He has led the Transaction and Integration Management Offices for a multi-billion-dollar buy-side and sell-side carve-outs.
His focus areas include deal and operationally-aligned integration strategy and execution, Day 1 readiness, and carve-out leadership covering standalone cost modeling, TSA strategy, stranded-cost mitigation, and rapid stand-up of standalone operations. Josh helps clients cut through complexity and bring together teams to deliver clear, actionable paths to sustainable value creation.
Josh has advised a broad spectrum of clients on their most complex and consequential transactions - including global industrial conglomerates, publicly listed multinationals, private equity sponsors, family offices, and first-time acquirers undertaking transformational deals. His work spans strategic and financial buyers, sell-side divestors, and joint venture consortia, often involving cross-border transactions with multi-jurisdictional stakeholders and significant public or regulatory scrutiny.
His sector experience is concentrated in Chemicals, Technology, Pharmaceuticals, and Retail, with engagements executed across Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom. Transaction sizes have ranged from mid-market to multi-billion-dollar carve-outs and acquisitions.
His specialties include carve-out due diligence and transaction management; integration strategy and execution; separation management across multi-country operations; Day 1 readiness; standalone cost modeling and TSA strategy; stranded-cost mitigation; and the stand-up of standalone operating models for retained or newly independent entities.
