Danielle Gifford is the Managing Director of AI at PwC Canada, where she leads the strategic growth of the firm’s Data and AI Practice. With more than 15 years of experience, she specializes in commercializing advanced technologies including artificial intelligence, data analytics, and cloud platforms. Her work spans both public and private sectors, helping organizations navigate AI strategy, governance, and implementation with a hands-on, results-driven approach.
Prior to PwC, Danielle spearheaded the launch of The51 Ventures investment platform, M51. In this role she secured $1.8M in funding and activated $1.5M in early-stage capital. At AltaML, she led the establishment of the Artificial Intelligence Talent and Experimentation Accelerator, training 240 individuals in Applied AI Methodology and developing over 70 AI use cases for Private and Public Sector clients including: The Government of Alberta, Suncor, Rogers Sports & Entertainment, Intuit, Health Canada, ATB Financial, TransAlta, Spartan Controls, and the Toronto Star. She helped to stand up the Creative Destruction Lab (CDL) Rockies site in Calgary and as a Venture Manager and Recruitment Lead her efforts resulted in over $250M in equity value creation across ventures in health, operations, energy, and fintech.
Recognized as a sought-after speaker and moderator at national technology conferences such as Elevate Festival, Inventures, Collision, and SaaS North, Danielle drives discussions on cutting-edge technologies and fosters innovation. In her spare time, she is an Adjunct Professor teaching The University of Calgary's first AI in Business course for MBA students.
