Arturo Lopez is a PwC partner and the leader of PwC Canada’s Risk Assurance Services practice.

Arturo has more than 25 years of experience helping clients design, assess and implement controls over a number of business and technology processes. He also performs project risk reviews that help assess the effectiveness of project management, quality assurance and data conversion activities related to IT and business application implementation projects.

Arturo is responsible for planning and executing PwC’s strategy for the delivery of IT audit services to support certifications of internal control for financial reporting under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX 404) and the Canadian NI 52-109. He also audits control procedures under the guidelines of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA) CSAE 3416 and AICPA SAEE 16 for a number of organizations that provide business and IT process services to numerous industries.

Arturo has worked with both listed and large private clients throughout his career, with a particular focus on the public sector, energy, utilities and mining industries. Arturo has been involved with a number of engagements with the Office of the Auditor General (OAG), where he provided he provided expertise around the assessment of control risk during the planning and execution of audits for financial statement agencies and Crown corporations. Arturo was also a key member of the PwC team that supported the OAG update of audit methodology.

Arturo holds both CPA and Certified Information Systems Auditor designations, and is a past president of the Toronto Chapter of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association. He is also treasurer of the board of the Canadian Peruvian Chamber of Commerce, where he works to facilitate business relations between Canada and Peru in a number of areas, including mining and infrastructure investments.
