Dr Andrew Schuster

Partner, Transformation Risk and Advisory, PwC Canada

Andrew has a national responsibility for the development of PwC Canada's Transformation Risk and Advisory practice and the delivery of solutions to key clients. He has over 30 years international experience researching, designing, delivering and reviewing major organizational transformation programmes.

Prior to moving to Canada in 2018, Andrew spent 16 years in the United Kingdom leading and reviewing key aspects of some of the largest and most complex projects in the country, including those listed on the Government Major Project Portfolio. These projects included multi-billion dollar technology, infrastructure, asset and innovation investment projects, attracting high levels of scrutiny from industry, government and the public. For example, he was instrumental in the design and delivery of a multi-year program to transform cancer research, clinical services and training in South East London, and he conducted critical reviews of national rail infrastructure projects.

He has contributed extensively to the development of best management practice. He researched and authored guidance and thought leadership for Her Majesty's Government in the United Kingdom, Association for Project Management, Information Security Forum, and Project Management Institute. Topics include projectification, public management, governance, audit and assurance, management of risk, programme management office design, security architecture, benefit realisation, and innovation and risk. Andrew is now part of a global community to develop and expand Transformation best practice across PwCs network of firms, co-authoring Agile Project Delivery Confidence white paper and directing PwC’s Transformation Global Research Programme.

Andrew holds a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) from Cranfield University, a Masters Business Administration (MBA) from Sauder School of Business and a Bachelor Science (B.Sc.) Computer Engineering from the University of Alberta. He is a Fellow of Institute of Consulting, Fellow of Association of Project Management and a committee member of the Association for Project Management Assurance SIG.
