Application submission steps

Review our short application form, gather your information and fill out and submit the form.
Applications will be open until December 22, 2017.

Finalist selection, announcement, celebrations and due diligence

Our first panel of independent judges will select 20 finalists (five in each of the four categories) in the first round of judging. Watch for your organization’s name in our announcements and participate in our exclusive celebration events! Finalists can expect review meetings with PwC Canada before they're qualified to move on to the second round of judging.

Winner selection and awards ceremony

Our second panel of independent judges will select four winners in the second round of judging. The four Vision to Reality Awards winners will be announced at the awards ceremony in Toronto.

V2R Awards criteria

Emerging company or start-up, CA$0–50M in revenue, including pre-revenue

Organizations in this category must be able to demonstrate a new idea that’s adding value to people, business or society. Applications will be judged according to the following criteria:

The idea (40%)

Are you solving an important problem? Is your innovation truly unique? Is it difficult to replicate? Is it disrupting your industry or organization?

The value (25%)

Can you prove the success of your innovation? Do you have any success metrics, such as value in your market, socioeconomic impact, engagement, operational efficiencies, cost savings, revenue or customer acquisition?

The execution (25%)

How was your innovation implemented? How was it communicated to your stakeholders, employees and target audience? How complex was it in terms of regulatory issues and competition? Were there any extraordinary challenges you had to overcome?

The future (10%)

Where do you see your innovation taking your organization in the future? What are the next steps in your innovation journey?

Mid-market organization, CA$51M–1B in revenue

Organizations in this category must be able to demonstrate a new idea that’s adding value to people, business or society. Applications will be judged according to the following criteria:

Are you solving an important problem? Is your innovation truly unique? Is it difficult to replicate? Is it disrupting your industry or organization?

The value (25%)

Can you prove the success of your innovation? Do you have any success metrics, such as value in your market, socioeconomic impact, engagement, operational efficiencies, cost savings, revenue or customer acquisition?

How was your innovation implemented? How was it communicated to your stakeholders, employees and target audience? How complex was it in terms of regulatory issues and competition? Were there any extraordinary challenges you had to overcome? 

The future (10%)

Where do you see your innovation taking your organization in the future? What are the next steps in your innovation journey?

Large enterprise, CA$1B+ in revenue

Organizations in this category must be able to demonstrate an initiative that has transformed the way an organization operates or interacts with customers to support the overall strategy and pave the way for future success.

The project (30%)

Are you solving an important problem? Does your transformation support your organization's strategy? How forward thinking is your transformation project?

The impact (25%)

Can you prove the impact of your innovation? Do you have any success metrics, such as revenue, engagement, operational efficiencies or cost savings? How are you continuously measuring your impact?

The execution (30%)

How was your transformation implemented? Did you co-create with anyone? How did you engage your stakeholders? How agile were you through the implementation process? Were there any extraordinary challenges you had to overcome?

The future (15%)

Where do you see your innovation taking your organization in the future? What are the next steps in your innovation journey? How will your innovation position you differently in the future? Does it have enterprise-wide applicability?

Public sector organization of any size

Our independent panel of judges will be evaluating organizations in this category that can demonstrate a progressive initiative that's making an impactful contribution to Canadian citizens:

How was your innovation implemented? How was it communicated to your stakeholders, employees and target audience? How complex was it in terms of regulatory issues and competition? Were there any extraordinary challenges you had to overcome? How did you overcome these challenges?

The future (10%)

What future impact do you see your innovation having on the industry and Canadian citizens? What are the next steps in your innovation journey?
