Associate Partner, PwC Canada
Tim Johnston is an Associate Partner with the Tax Services practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in Vancouver. He is a member of the Mining Tax team.
Tim has over 21 years of public practice tax experience, with more than 15 years of specialized focus on clients in the domestic and international mining sectors. He currently services more than 50 mining clients ranging from large, multi-national producers down to junior exploration and development companies. Tim has extensive experience managing the Canadian and international tax planning, structuring, provision and compliance needs of mining companies with a presence in Canada.
Prior to joining PwC in 2007, Tim spent 10 years working in the Tax group of another large professional services firm. Before becoming a Chartered Accountant in 2000, his work experience included owning his own small-business consulting practice, teaching personal development workshops, and working as an operations analyst for the New York City government.
Tim is a graduate of Cornell University, receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1981. He received a Diploma in Financial Management (Honours) from the British Columbia Institute of Technology in 1997.
Tim has developed and taught many seminars and courses on different areas of taxation, mining taxation, and the tax aspects of IFRS.
