With over 20 years of experience, he is a trusted advisor to multinational companies across Canada, particularly in the energy, utilities, and mining sectors.

Simon began his career with PwC in London (UK), later working in Brisbane and Sydney (Australia), before settling in Calgary, which he has called home for the past decade. His expertise lies in identifying and resolving accounting complexities before deals are finalized and supporting post-transaction to ensure smooth outcomes. This includes converting financial information between accounting frameworks, assessing purchase price allocations, and advising on potential reporting hurdles.

Simon specializes in accounting for regulated utilities and complex energy contracts. He has authored expert witness reports and supported related engagements for rate filings for regulated utilities. His expertise includes assessing the financial reporting impacts of GAAP conversions, evaluating the capitalization of cloud computing costs, and conducting overhead capitalization studies.

In addition, Simon leads PwC’s Digital Financial Reporting team, which is dedicated to advancing best practices in financial reporting. The team leverages market-leading technologies to streamline and automate the reporting of financial data.
