Scott is a Partner in PwC Canada’s Southwestern Ontario assurance practice based in Waterloo and is our Waterloo Market Leader, focused on collaborating with clients and the business community and growing our practice in the K-W, Cambridge and Guelph markets and surrounding areas. Scott also leads our people initiatives in the Waterloo Region including recruiting efforts. Scott brings his focus on audit quality and financial reporting transparency to his clients. He has based his career on serving a diverse client base that keeps him highly engaged in his work. In addition to being a subject matter expert working with complex agribusinesses, he also has an existing client base in other commodities, manufacturing, distribution, services, insurance and other financial services.
Scott began his career with PwC in the Waterloo office in 2003 after working for a regional accounting firm in London, Ontario. From 2006 to 2008, Scott worked for the Wellington office of PwC New Zealand with clients including insurance companies, investment funds and fund managers, public companies and subsidiaries of multi-national corporations. After his time overseas, Scott continued his career at PwC Southwestern Ontario in the London office, before returning with his family to Waterloo.
Scott has strong experience and expertise in IFRS, assisting audit clients and non-audit clients with their transitions to IFRS both in New Zealand and in Canada. Scott was part of our national IFRS champion network throughout the Canadian transition period and the majority of his clients report under IFRS.
Scott graduated with distinction from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor in Mathematics in the Chartered Accountancy program. Scott went on to obtain his Master of Accounting from the University of Waterloo and obtained his CA designation in 2005 after being named to the honour roll of the 2004 Uniform Final Examination. Scott is active in the community through his past board involvement with Camino Wellbeing & Mental Health and the Greater K-W Chamber of Commerce and lives with his wife and two teenagers in Waterloo.
