Ryan Leopold is the National Banking and Capital Markets Assurance Leader and a partner in the Audit and Assurance Group of PwC Canada working in the Toronto office. He’s also a member of the Financial Services team.

With over a decade of experience with PwC, Ryan provides audit and related services to financial institutions across Canada, focusing specifically on clients in banking and the capital markets industry. He works closely with the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) regulated banks as well as a number of credit unions.

As companies move through the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) conversion process, Ryan has shared his practical, hands-on guidance in the area of loan-loss accounting and credit risk. He collaborates with the international PwC network, integrating lessons learned across the globe. Ryan has also served financial institutions in their broader IFRS conversion journeys, covering the technical, regulatory, and project management aspects of this process.

Ryan has authored a number of industry-specific publications exploring topics such as risks to the banking sector, regulatory changes, and perspectives on the future of Canadian banks. He also coordinates our national banking and capital markets learning and education courses at PwC.

Ryan graduated with a BCom (Finance and Economics) from the University of Toronto in 2000 and obtained his CA designation in 2003.
