Peter Koch

Peter Koch is a Partner and PwC's Certification Practice Leader with over 28 years of operational risk advisory and assurance experience. Peter specializes in providing ISO, forest management and chain of custody certifications and advisory services. He brings broad industry experience including forestry, energy, utilities, mining, industrial products and public sector. His clients have included Canadian, US and UK listed entities and multinational corporations with operations in North, Central and South America, Europe, Central Asia, Australia and West Africa. 

Peter has led many large and complex engagements over the past twenty-eight years at PwC across industries and sectors. A representative sample of his projects include: certification (ISO, SFI, FSC, PEFC) and readiness services; operational and capital projects risk assessments and performance improvement engagements; enterprise risk management implementations; environment, health and safety assessments, deep dive reviews and investigations; supply chain and procurement transformations; quality management process reviews; internal audit outsourcing and co-sourcing engagements; financial and non-financial reporting internal controls assessments and transformations; financial and operational performance benchmarking assignments; IT general and application controls assessments; board and management level governance reviews. 

In addition to his client service responsibilities, Peter has played a leadership role at PwC through developing thought leadership, PwC methodology and training in the areas of corporate governance, enterprise risk management, internal audit, internal controls compliance and capital project risk assurance. Peter has been a subject matter specialist guest speaker on these topics for the PwC global firm and the Financial Executives Institute (FEI), CPA Canada, Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), ACUMEN and Canadian Electricity Association (CAE).
