Paul Fitzsimon

Prior to his current role, Paul was the Chief Assurance Risk, Quality and Regulatory Officer. He was responsible for managing the firm’s relationships with external regulators and had oversight for the assurance risk, quality and independence functions within the firm.
Paul has also been the Global Head of Reporting and Chief Accountant, where he provided strategic oversight over the global IFRS network. He was a member of the Global Assurance Leadership team between 2014 and 2017 and was the GTA Assurance Leader between 2008 and 2014.
Paul has more than 30 years of market experience in audit and assurance providing client service to some of our largest Canadian and global clients across a variety of industries and sectors.
Paul joined the UK firm’s assurance practice in 1986 and moved to Toronto in 1995. Paul was appointed partner in 2000. He is a qualified CPA, CA in Canada and is an FCA with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He earned a BSc (Mathematical Sciences) from the University of Bradford in West Yorkshire, UK in 1986.
