Mark Wong

Partner, PwC Canada

Mark is a Senior Vice President in PwC's Restructuring and Insolvency practice with deep expertise spanning multiple industries, including real estate, retail, oil and gas services, construction, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, healthcare, agriculture, automotive, and forestry. He specializes in assessing financial viability, developing and executing restructuring plans, and guiding lenders and debtors through complex financial challenges — including formal proceedings under Canadian insolvency and restructuring legislation (CCAA and Receiverships), financial due diligence, forecasting, and liquidity management.

Since joining PwC in 2010, Mark has led and supported numerous restructuring advisory and sale mandates throughout Canada, advising local and national stakeholders of financially troubled companies with debts exceeding $140 million. He helps clients preserve value and restructure successfully by advising on business plans and options, assisting with cash flow forecasts, and developing and implementing restructuring plans — both through informal restructurings and formal insolvency proceedings. His clients have included traditional lenders, asset-based lenders, and private companies.

Mark's approach is grounded in technical expertise, cross-industry experience, and calm, direct communication across competing stakeholders, enabling him to quickly identify critical issues and drive pragmatic outcomes in high-stakes situations. He is known for building trust between parties with fundamentally different interests — bridging the gap between borrowers and lenders through transparent reporting and practical guidance.

Mark holds CPA, CFA, CIRP, and LIT designations.
