Junaid Mirza

Junaid is the Legal Business Solutions Leader at PwC Canada and a leader in the tax and legal practice focused on AI enablement for his clients. He focuses on transforming legal and tax functions through the strategic application of Generative AI, advanced technologies, and modern operating models.

With more than 20 years of experience, Junaid advises executive teams and boards on redesigning legal and tax functions for a digital, data-driven enterprise. His work centers on technology-enabled value creation – reimagining how legal and tax operate across the business value chain to deliver predictive risk management, scalable compliance, AI-enabled contract intelligence, and data-informed decision-making.

Junaid leads PwC Canada’s Generative AI initiatives within Tax & Legal, helping his clients move beyond experimentation to enterprise deployment. He works with clients to embed AI responsibly across contract lifecycle management, regulatory monitoring, tax reporting, legal in-take, knowledge management, and governance frameworks.

He has extensive experience in technology-led value chain transformation and end-to-end process design in the age of AI. He supports multinational organizations in modernizing operating models, digitizing workflows, integrating data ecosystems, and building sustainable governance structures aligned with strategic business objectives.

Junaid is a frequent speaker on Generative AI in legal and tax functions, legal department and law firm transformation, AI governance, and the evolving economics of professional services. He holds an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University, a Master of Science in International Business from the University of Reading, and a CPA designation from the State of Delaware.
