John Proctor is a Partner in the Cybersecurity, Privacy & Financial Crimes practice, where he advises boards, executives and CISOs on cyber risk, resilience and the governance of complex technology enabled organizations. He specializes in large, people centric and technology led cyber initiatives, particularly in the government and public sector, helping clients align cyber strategy and operations with business objectives and risk tolerance.

John’s private sector experience spans senior leadership roles across global consulting and technology organizations. He served as President and CEO of Martello Technologies Group Inc. (TSXV: MTLO), where he transformed a legacy software company into a multi platform UC analytics provider, led multiple international acquisitions and funding rounds, grew revenue substantially, and built a strategic partnership around Microsoft Teams analytics. Previously, as Vice President, Global Cyber Security at a major global consulting and IT services firm, he oversaw the global security portfolio and more than 1,400 security professionals, developing and executing cyber strategies for clients in government, financial services, telecommunications, manufacturing, retail and regulatory sectors.

Prior to entering the business community, John served for more than twenty years in the British and Canadian armed forces. He was a Naval Aviator in the Royal Navy and an Intelligence Officer in the Canadian Armed Forces, including six years with Canadian Tier 1 Special Operations Forces. He is an experienced director, serving on the boards of the Ottawa International Airport Authority (where he chairs the Infrastructure Committee), the Ottawa Board of Trade, the Juno Beach Centre Association, and the South Ottawa Valley OPP Detachment board. He holds the ICD.D designation and is a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
