Joel Waters

Joel is a Partner in the Assurance Risk & Quality group. He has spent more than half of his career as a trusted subject matter expert in audit quality and methodology with specialized experience in audits of SEC registrants, audits of internal control over financial reporting, performing efficient and effective risk assessment procedures and auditing digital assets. Joel leads several high-impact initiatives, including the firm's annual quality training, the implementation of new auditing standards, and the development of industry-specific audit programs.
Joel brings more than a decade of experience serving public companies, including SEC registrants, across all industries. Joel combines deep technical expertise with a collaborative mindset to guide clients and teams through complex audit challenges. He is known for delivering thoughtful, practical solutions that meet regulatory requirements while enhancing efficiency and building consensus along the way.
Joel has represented PwC Canada on CPA Canada's Advisory Group on the Implementation of Canadian Auditing Standards (AGICAS).
