Horatiu Muresan

Horatiu is a Director in PwC Canada’s Sustainability and Climate Change practice, bringing deep expertise in sustainability strategy, climate change services, regulatory compliance, non‑financial performance indicators, and sustainability reporting and assurance. He joined PwC in 2005 as a Senior Associate within the Sustainability practice and has since progressed to his current leadership role.

From July 2009 to February 2023, Horatiu was a member of Emissions Reduction Alberta (ERA), formerly known as the Climate Change Emissions Management Corporation (CCEMC). During this period, he provided technical support to project proponents, reviewers, and advisors, and contributed to ERA’s accounting and internal audit functions. His responsibilities also included project monitoring, performance measurement, reporting, and the delivery of greenhouse gas (GHG) validation services.

Since September 2022, Horatiu has served as Lead Director for GHG and Clean Fuel Regulations (CFR) regulatory verifications at PwC Canada, where he supports clients in meeting complex regulatory and assurance requirements.

Prior to joining PwC, Horatiu accumulated more than eight years of experience in British Columbia’s forestry consulting sector, managing projects, overseeing data collection, and performing advanced data analysis. He also gained valuable exposure to the financial services industry through his role as a Mortgage Analyst at the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia.
