Bahar Sateli, Ph.D. is a Partner at PwC Canada and leads the AI & Advanced Analytics Community of Practice at the firm. With a doctorate in Computer Science and over a decade of experience in building large-scale and adaptive AI applications, she brings an in-depth knowledge of development and operationalization of AI solutions at an enterprise level. In addition to her technical delivery role, she specializes in helping businesses define their AI ‘northstar’ and establish robust governance programs that balance AI's risks and benefits.

Bahar co-led the development of PwC’s Global Responsible AI Toolkit — a suite of frameworks, processes, tools, and services designed to enable the ethical and responsible development and use of AI from strategy through execution. PwC’s award-winning toolkit has been internationally recognized as an “Outstanding Achievement in the Field of AI Ethics and Enterprise Adoption of AI” by CogX.

Bahar is a frequent public speaker on the application of AI in business and responsible AI practices. Prior to PwC, she was an academic author with more than 30 publications and served as a program committee member for several international AI and Web conferences. An entrepreneur at heart, Bahar was active in the tech entrepreneurship scene and currently sits on the advisory board of AI startups and R&D institutions.

Bahar is deeply passionate about empowering women in tech by providing guidance and coaching to help them launch their careers and achieve lasting success. She is recognized as one of the “Top 30 Influential Women Advancing AI in 2019”, and “Women in AI to Watch” by Forbes in 2020.
