Asif Qayyum is a Partner in PwC Canada’s Toronto office, where he leads the Cybersecurity Risk and Controls and Emerging Technologies practices. He works closely with clients to understand and address their challenges related to cybersecurity risk, regulatory compliance, fraud, and crisis management across highly regulated sectors.
Asif has extensive experience across multiple industries, with hands-on leadership in managing complex transformation programs focused on digital risk, security, and compliance in both emerging technologies and legacy modernization throughout North America and Asia.
A recognized security strategist, Asif is a trusted advisor to clients navigating the interplay, optimization, and governance of cybersecurity within the broader context of enterprise strategy, people, and processes. His experience spans IT, OT, and emerging technologies. He has led security and compliance programs for AI, multi vendor cloud environments, blockchain, cryptocurrency, and data platforms.
Asif has worked in Asia, the Middle East, and North America and previously launched the first regional payment gateway in South Asia.
He has served in various advisory positions, including on the Ontario Securities Commission’s Fintech Advisory Committee and CPA Canada’s Data Standards Assurance Committee. Asif is an Electrical Engineer, an International Fulbright nominee, and an Alfred P. Sloan Fellow from MIT.
