Ryan leads PwC Canada’s Banking and Capital Markets Assurance practice and their Financial Risk Management practice, helping build trust in society for the past two decades.

He has a passion for advising clients on credit risk, working through complex IFRS 9 modelling challenges and sharing insights gained throughout the PwC global network. Ryan authors a quarterly IFRS 9 benchmarking study and is also an active member of OSFI’s Deposit-Taking-Institutions Auditor Advisory Committee.

Ryan has a unique skill set that bridges the gap between traditional and emerging finance sectors. He has been an engagement leader on the audits of public and private banks and financial institutions in Canada (CPAB and PCAOB) and provides advisory services to Canadian financial institutions including credit unions and monoline lenders covering IFRS topics or regulatory developments.

Ryan provides practical, hands-on guidance in loan-loss accounting and credit risk, impact of emerging technologies and control environment assessments. He has performed end-to-end IFRS 9 controls design assessments and tested operating effectiveness testing to support GSIB/DSIB financial statement audits.

Ryan also leads a team of quantitative specialists who provide assistance to financial institutions including development, validation, audit of capital and stress testing models, pricing models, quantitative tools and models for financial reporting purposes.
