Marc-Stéphane Pennee is a partner in the Assurance Group of PwC Canada working in the Montréal office.
Marc-Stéphane has over 17 years of experience carrying out Canadian and US regulatory engagements on behalf of major publicly held companies, with a more recent focus on mining companies at the exploration and operating stages. He is also a member of our retail and consumer packaged goods industry team and he leads Quebec’s market development for the Food and Beverage sector. In addition to that, he continues to work with industrial manufacturing entities, as well as private companies of all sizes. He has thus acquired in-depth knowledge of Canadian and US generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and international financial reporting standards (IFRS).
In 2005, Marc-Stéphane was selected to take part in Genesis Park, a leadership development program for high-potential employees offered by PwC in its Washington, DC office. From 2008 to 2010, he worked in PwC’s Winnipeg office. He is also strongly involved in developing and teaching assurance courses for PwC staff and he is the partner overseeing the Human Capital function for his group in Montréal.
Fully fluent in English, French and Spanish, Marc-Stéphane holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a specialized graduate degree in public accountancy from the École des Hautes Études Commerciales de Montréal (HEC). He obtained his Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation in 2001.
Marc-Stéphane served on the board of the Foundation of the Quebec Order of Chartered Professional Accountants from 2005 to 2008; and since 2013, he sits on the Board as its treasurer of the Carrefour pour Elle Foundation, an organization which supports women - and their children - who are victims of spousal abuse.
