Karen Sawatsky

Karen Sawatsky leads the assurance and accounting advisory practice for PwC’s Fraser Valley office, delivering commercially focused services to a wide range of businesses. Karen has worked with a diverse client portfolio including both public and private companies, as well as numerous not for profit and public sector organizations. Her industry experience is wide including consumer and industrial product manufacturing, wholesale/retail, agriculture and food, professional services, transportation, education, healthcare, and financial services, including insurance and banking.
In addition to advising her clients across a wide variety of audit and taxation issues, she is adept at working with companies dealing with the impacts of growth and disruption, including resolving complex accounting issues, managing risk, establishing and maintaining good governance and identifying transformation opportunities. She brings a practical and entrepreneurial perspective to her clients.
Prior to joining PwC, Karen spent six years working in international development in Eastern Europe on a joint initiative with the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), the Lithuanian government and the DeFehr Foundation. This experience developed her skills in leadership development, process improvement, and non-profit financial reporting.
