James Merkosky

James Merkosky is a partner in PwC’s Edmonton Tax Services practice and leads the Edmonton cross border tax team.
James has more than 20 years of experience in public practice and assists private and public companies, as well as their employees, with a wide variety of corporate and personal tax matters. His experience includes matters such as tax efficient ownership structures, withholding taxes, expatriate tax, U.S. state tax, transfer pricing and strategic acquisitions and divestitures. His experience with both Canadian and U.S. tax allows him to effectively assist his clients with their cross border needs.
James graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a BComm and is a Chartered Accountant and a U.S. Certified Public Accountant. He is currently a member of CPA Canada, CPA Alberta, CPA Saskatchewan and the Colorado State Board of Accountancy.
James is Board Chair of the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce and serves on the board of the Old Strathcona Youth Society. He has also served as a coach for various minor sports organizations.
