Celeste Murphy is an associate partner in the National Accounting Consulting Services group, working in the Calgary office. In this role, she provides expertise to clients and staff on complex accounting, financial reporting and securities regulation matters for Canadian entities, both public and private. Celeste’s technical expertise includes IFRS, Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE), Accounting Standards for Not-for-profit Organizations (ASNPO), Canadian Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS) and Canadian securities regulatory requirements.

She has experience in a wide range of industries and sectors including oil and gas, mining, energy services, real estate, private company services, not-for-profit organizations and public sector organizations. In addition to her national role, Celeste has also served as engagement leader on various audit clients within the Calgary office.

Celeste has prepared several PwC thought leadership newsletters, specializing in developments in ASPE and ASNPO. She is frequently instructing on complex accounting matters, both as a presentation developer and instructor. Celeste has also been involved in certain CPA Task Force projects to develop implementation guidance for entities applying ASPE.

Celeste graduated from the University of Calgary in 1998 with a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting). She obtained her Canadian CA designation in 2001.

Celeste joined the firm in 1998. Since then, she has worked mainly in the Calgary office. She also completed a three year secondment working for the Assurance practice in Melbourne, Australia.
