On 3 February, the PwC Ukraine Customs and International Trade team held a business meeting focused on the key customs challenges and opportunities for 2026.

We covered the following topics

  1. Preparing for 19 April: authorisations for specific customs regimes, operation of customs warehouses and free zones, and how to maximise the benefits of AEO status and simplifications.
  2. Customs audit results for 2025: key lessons learned and effective approaches to selecting a winning strategy.
  3. Customs disputes: what businesses appeal, how often, an overview of decisions and trends.
  4. Postclearance control: how to prepare for an audit even before receiving a request, and what actions to take at every stage.
  5. The new Customs Code: will it reset international trade in Ukraine?
  6. Customs benefits: what businesses are entitled to, how to use these benefits without risk, and whether Defence.City residents have real advantages.

“We organised this meeting to help businesses navigate the changes coming into force on 19 April, as well as the provisions of the new Customs Code presented in October 2025. Our team prepared a comprehensive overview of legislative updates, shared strategies for successful postclearance control, and examined the most common types of disputes and ways to protect business interests. We also focused on customs benefits available to specific categories of companies,”

said Vita Miroshnychenko, Director and Leader of the Customs and International Trade Practice at PwC Ukraine.

The speakers included Vita Miroshnychenko; Pavlo Herasymiuk, Manager of PwC Ukraine’s Customs and International Trade Practice; Yuliia Khomenko, Manager of the Practice; and Daria Tsvitsynska, Senior Consultant.

We sincerely thank our guests and speakers for a productive discussion and valuable exchange of experience!
