Michael Shea

Mike Shea is PwC Canada’s National Managing Partner, Private and a member of the firm’s Canadian Leadership Team. He leads PwC Canada’s practice serving Private Companies, Family Capital and Private Capital, helping them navigate the opportunities and challenges of building, growing, financing and transitioning their businesses.  

Mike began his career with PwC more than 20 years ago in our Halifax office and has spent the last 18 years in the firm’s Deals practice, advising clients across Canada’s private markets. Most recently, he served as PwC Canada’s National Private Equity & Pension Fund Leader, where he worked closely with many of Canada’s leading private equity firms, pension funds and alternative asset managers, helping them identify investment opportunities, create value within their portfolio companies and execute successful transactions. 

Throughout his career, Mike has advised entrepreneurs, family businesses, private companies, and investors on many of their most significant business decisions. His experience includes helping clients grow through acquisitions and organic expansion, raising and deploying capital, improving business performance, navigating complex transactions, and preparing ownership transitions.  

Having spent much of his career advising founders, family businesses and private capital investors, Mike has developed a deep understanding of the unique opportunities and challenges they face throughout the ownership lifecycle. He is passionate about bringing together the right people, capabilities and relationships (both within PwC and across Canada’s broader private market ecosystem) to help clients navigate complex decisions and capitalize on new opportunities.  
 
In addition to being a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Mike also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) designations.
