Joe Coltson is a partner in PwC Canada’s Forensic practice, and is the National Cyber Forensics Investigations Leader. Joe has been an investigator for over 20 years, focusing on technology risk and litigation support including computer forensics, cyber incident response, eDiscovery and governance.

Earlier in his career, Joe was a 16 year veteran police officer with the Peel Regional Police. He was an investigator in the Detective’s Office and Youth Crime Office dealing with crimes against persons. He also served as an investigator and trainer within the Technological Crimes Unit where he was involved in the investigation of computer crimes from homicides to frauds, including a number of high profile cases in which Joe qualified as an expert witness. Additionally, he qualified as an expert witness on a number of occasions in civil matters and testified at all levels of court proceedings.

Outside of professional services, Joe has sat on a number of Boards in both a Director and advisory capacity. He taught and developed investigative interviewing, data forensic, eDiscovery, information security and investigative courses and lectured at the University, College and professional levels. Joseph also instructed Crown Attorneys and civil litigators on technological evidence.
