Partner, National Deals Leader
Dave is the national leader of the PwC’s Deals team. The Deals team services include: Valuations, Corporate Finance, Restructuring, Infrastructure, Transactions, Due Diligence, Litigation support, Commercial Strategy and Debt Advisory. He was appointed to the partnership with PwC in 1994.
Prior to this role, Dave was the Canadian leader of the restructuring team. Dave has over 25 years of experience specializing in financial and operational restructurings. He resigned from PwC in 2002 to start up, as President, Prowis Inc., a PwC affiliate specializing in the development and implementation of restructuring and refinancing plans for troubled businesses; this extended to a Chief Restructuring Officer for a number of companies.
Dave’s role on the Deals leadership executive team and on large bank clients gives him a very broad perspective on business transactions. This has resulted in connectivity within PwC’s Tax, Consulting and Advisory practice.
Dave’s professional experience is different from many restructuring partners in accounting firms. In his seven years of experience running Prowis Inc. this gave him the opportunity to lead restructurings on behalf of the companies, as well as to manage a startup and transition it into a fully functional independent advisory firm. Working with a boutique firm and PwC has provided Dave with two different perspectives on restructuring and refinancing.
The roles Dave has held during his many restructurings have provided him with:
