PwC Ukraine recognized in seven categories in 2019 edition of The Legal 500

Recently, The Legal 500 EMEA 2019 released its results for 2018. PwC Ukraine’s tax and legal practice was recognized in seven categories at once.

For the third year in a row, PwC made it to Tier #1 as a leading firm in Ukraine for Tax work. The research points out that PwC ‘has a 25-year history of providing tax and legal services in Ukraine and has become one of the leading practices in the market’. This year, the firm made another breakthrough by significantly ‘increasing its visibility in the market’.

Tax Partner Slava Vlasov is named among the leading professionals in his field.

The Dispute Resolution practice, headed by Dmytro Donets, is praised for its 'reputable legal professionals and wide experience'. The research highlights that Dmytro and his team represented a trading and investment company in the International Commercial Arbitration Court.

This year, the Employment practice of the firm was noted twice –for ‘assisting multinational and Ukrainian companies with employment and immigration matters, including labour disputes’ , while its Head Olga Melnychenko, was recognized by peers as an expert and placed among leading individuals of Ukraine’s legal market practicing employment law. Andrey Pronchenko, Managing partner at the Attorneys Association “PwC Legal” in Ukraine, is recommended as well.

The research points out the strength of the firm’s Intellectual Property practice and highlights the role of Olga Romanenko, an experienced practitioner leading the IP, IT and Data protection group.

PwC Legal’s Real Estate practice joins the ranking ‘thanks to the growing reputation of practice head Olga Balytska, who has 15 years' experience’. Olga and her team 'assisted Kiev City Council with the reform of its infrastructure programme and its development of a unified database of lease agreements'.

Besides that, PwC Legal Ukraine received a listing for its Commercial, Corporate and M&A work for providing assistance to its prominent clients such as Bayer Group and Honda Motor Europe. Alexey Katasonov and Oleksandra Kostrytsia are the key names behind this success.

The research pointed to the strengths of Private Client’s practice, led by Partner Camiel van der Meij, which provides international mobility services to high-net-worth individuals including advice on tax-efficient structures planning. It also assists public officials to declare their assets and income properly.
