Who is your personal data controller with respect to the tax services provided under the Contract with you, or with your employer?

PwC processes your personal data as a data controller for the following purposes:
(1) Power of Attorney - in order to enable us to communicate with the Slovak tax authorities and file documents electronically on your behalf in connection with services provided by us under the contract signed with you, or your employer,
(2) To be able to deliver relevant services (personal income tax services, or other services) based on the contract signed with you, or your employer.
We process your personal data on the following legal basis:
- Legislation if we have signed a contract with your employer: Section 16 (3) of Act No. 78/1992 Coll. on Tax Advisers and the Slovak Chamber of Tax Advisers as amended for personal income tax services
- Contract performance if we have signed a contract directly with you as an individual
If you provide us with the personal data of another person (e.g. family member), please ensure that the concerned data subject is informed about the fact that their personal data will be provided to PwC, and that PwC will become the data subject’s data controller. We have implemented generally accepted standards of technology and operational security in order to protect your personal data from loss, misuse, alteration or destruction. Only authorized persons are provided with access to your personal data. These individuals have agreed to maintain the confidentiality of such information.
We will only share your personal data with other parties when we are legally permitted to do so. Your personal data will not be disclosed to third parties, except for the following recipients:
a. Other PwC member firms. For details of our member firm locations, please visit the website: https://www.pwc.com/gx/en/about/corporate-governance/legal-entities.html. We may share personal data with other PwC member firms where necessary for administrative purposes;
b. Service providers that are not members of the PwC network (“third party service providers”) for processing on PwC’s behalf. Third party service providers may include providers of IT services, including identity management, website hosting, data analysis, data backup, security and storage services in so far as it refers to the relationship with PwC;
c. Governmental or regulatory authorities, courts and law enforcement authorities or agencies as required by and/or in accordance with applicable law or regulation.
Your personal data will be retained only as long as is necessary for the purposes stated above, i.e. until the end of your cooperation with PwC. After such time, it may only be stored for the period stated by statutory provisions, for our internal administrative purposes as a justification of services delivered to our clients, or as long as you or us may pursue legal claims towards each other.
Under personal data protection legislation, you may have certain rights in relation to the personal data we hold about you.
In particular, you may have a legal right to:
● Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
● Ask that we update the personal data we hold about you, or correct such personal data that you consider to be incorrect or incomplete
● Ask that we delete personal data that we hold about you, or restrict the way in which we use such personal data
● Restrict or object to our processing of your personal data
● Request a copy or transfer of your personal data (data portability)
