Hugh Owen will be of Counsel M&A at PwC Slovakia
Bratislava, 2 September 2021 – Mr. Hugh Owen is working at PwC Slovakia in legal M&A consulting effective from 1 September 2021. Hugh has been consistently rated as a leading or highly recommended advisor in Corporate and M&A in the world's leading independent legal directories, including Chambers Global, Chambers Europe, IFLR and Legal 500. He set up the Allen & Overy Slovak office in 2000 and established Allen & Overy's then associated office in Romania in 2008.
“I am very pleased to announce that from 1 September, I will be Of Counsel, M&A for PwC. I will continue to be based in Bratislava, and will have a role primarily for PwC in SEE and Slovakia, but also I will be available for PwC in the wider CEE region. I will work on English law M&A, as well as general M&A support. I will also assist in PwC client-facing training through the PwC Academy, as well as providing internal M&A training to PwC C&SEE M&A team members (Legal and Transactions),”
Hugh is a Solicitor of England & Wales, Lawyer, Consultant and Trainer, English law M&A. Hugh advises in connection with a variety of large-scale corporate and commercial transactions throughout C&SEE, in the telecoms, media & technology, banking, insurance, energy, real estate and healthcare sectors.
Hugh Owen was previously a partner of Allen & Overy, working in C&SEE, and based in Bratislava, Slovakia and Budapest, Hungary. He joined Allen & Overy in 1994 and qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales in 1996 and was the head of the South Eastern Europe Desk for many years, and head of the Ukraine Desk from early 2016.
