Partnering with BROZ to Restore Slovakia’s Natural Landscapes

07/10/25

We again joined forces for a volunteer initiative. One of our ongoing activities is cooperation with BROZ, an organization dedicated to nature conservation. PwC employees travelled to the Biskupské Luhy wetlands to help with the restoration of one of Slovakia’s most valuable habitats. Together, they contributed to preserving a place where rare plant species grow.

Despite the less-than-ideal weather, good spirits—along with tea and coffee—accompanied our volunteers throughout the day. The goal was to clear the meadows of old branches and invasive plants to allow orchids and other rare species to return. BROZ experts explained why this area is so important and how their projects help maintain natural biodiversity.

After completing their work, PwC volunteers enjoyed a short visit to a local farm, where they were greeted by its four-legged residents. This pleasant end to the day brought smiles and a well‑deserved moment of relaxation after demanding manual work. They left with the feeling that they had done something truly worthwhile—helping nature, supporting the restoration of a rare habitat, and showing that even small steps can have a significant impact.
