PwC Ukraine's first annual Accounting and Tax Conference

On 29 May 2019, PwC Ukraine held its first annual PwC Accounting and Tax Conference This high-profile event focused on new tax and accounting developments 2019 and the changes that finance and accounting professionals will face in the following years. The conference was attended by over 300 finance and tax professionals from all over Ukraine.
The leading IFRS and taxation experts from both private and public sector, including representatives from the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, the International Accounting Standards Board, the State Fiscal Service, the State Securities and Stock Market Commission, NJSC Naftogaz, IFC, Luxoft and HarvEast shared practical knowledge and case studies from their experience.
In his welcome speech, Ago Vilu, Managing Partner of PwC Ukraine, said that the PwC Accounting and Tax Conference can become a great annual platform to facilitate constructive discussion of IFRS developments, new accounting and tax rules and other important updates that will help professionals stay on top of the new developments.
The Conference day was divided into two sessions. During the morning session, participants discussed the amended IFRS 16, financial reporting taxonomy and shared IFRS adoption practical advice. The afternoon session focused on 2019 tax developments, the legal aspect of individual liability of finance professionals, a motivational session on building a successful career in accountancy, and a discussion about the future of Ukrainian economy.
