At the heart of our firm lies a steadfast commitment to strong ethical standards. Trust is the cornerstone of our relationships with clients, stakeholders, and the public. Upholding these standards isn’t just a responsibility – it's vital to our mission of fostering trust and addressing significant challenges. By prioritising ethics, we cultivate relationships grounded in honesty, responsibility, and transparency, positioning us as reliable professionals in a complex world. We continuously adapt to trends, enhance our practices, and embed our ethical values in every aspect of our work.
Our Code of Conduct is pivotal to our expectations. It defines the values and standards for all partners and staff, built on our Code’s five core principles:
These principles steer our daily decisions and actions. We urge everyone to speak up about any conduct that doesn’t meet these standards, and we safeguard those who do so, creating a safe and fair workplace. The following sections highlight our key ethics developments in FY25.
Over the past year we’ve continued our focus on integrity in training and professional growth. We’ve communicated our expectations for training integrity through various channels: launching mandatory learning modules, providing clear guidance, and reminding staff that all assessments must be completed independently and truthfully. These initiatives reflect and uphold our values and foster a culture of honesty and responsibility across the firm.
We’ve also enhanced our approach to identifying and managing conflicts of interest to uphold fairness and public confidence. All staff and partners are required to report situations that could compromise their impartiality. We adhere to clear procedures to address these issues, ensuring decisions are made fairly and in the best interests of our clients and stakeholders. The updated framework offers more guidance on identifying, evaluating, safeguarding, and documenting potential conflicts of interest or sensitive situations.
This year, we introduced an updated policy for government engagements, reinforcing our commitment to public trust. The policy underscores strict adherence to confidentiality, requiring all staff to safeguard sensitive government information. It also mandates compliance with our conflict-of-interest procedures to ensure impartiality and transparency. These measures, among others, are designed to protect public interest and uphold the integrity of our work.
Protecting sensitive information is a vital component of our ethics. We implement strict policies and secure systems to maintain confidentiality of client and company data. Staff receive regular training and must use approved technologies and procedures to ensure privacy and security are never compromised.
Our dedication to ethics extends to supporting human rights in our business. This year, we introduced a Human Rights Policy aligned with international standards. This policy reaffirms our commitment to inclusion, diversity, health and safety, and banning modern slavery and human trafficking. We believe respecting human rights is crucial for building trust and fulfilling our responsibilities to society.
Our ethical standards also apply to everyone we collaborate with. Our key suppliers and contractors must adhere to our third-party Code of Conduct, which covers anti-bribery, fair competition, working conditions, and data protection. This ensures our expectations for ethical behaviour are clear and consistent across our business network.
By championing strong ethical leadership, a clear Code of Conduct, honest training completion, transparent conflict management, support for human rights, and high standards of ethics for third parties, we show our commitment to earning public trust and leading our profession with the highest ethical standards.
