European Parliament approved the CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) in November 2022. The Member states now have 18 months to transpose it to the national legislation.

Large undertakings will be obliged to disclose information required by ESRS (European Sustainability Reporting Standards). The first set of standards is due to be finalised in June 2023, after a consultation process.

The training ESG reporting obligations in EU (CSRD & ESRS focus) takes place on 12–13 September 2023, following the publication of the final standards. You will learn about the structure, topics and requirements for ESG disclosures according to the EU rules.

Programme details

The programme consists of four inter-related modules. The basic modules are designed as a package. In addition, you can choose from optional modules focusing on a specific area in depth – those are suitable for specialists and people interested in a particular topic.

The training runs in a hybrid format – you can participate face-to-face or online. The choice is yours for every module. The duration is specified in each of the modules. They are delivered in the Czech language; some of the supporting materials may only be available in English.

The aim of the ESG programme is to give its participants a comprehensive overview of ESG topics - why it is important and what it means practically for business and strategy. After completing the basic modules, you will be a competent partner for your colleagues who knows what ESG report preparation entails, and you will know how to initiate and lead the process, or how you can contribute in your role.

Depending on your specialisation, you can continue with other expert programs focused on sustainable ESG assets and projects, sustainability management or sustainable finance.

The course is suitable for you if:
  • You contribute (in any role – e.g. human resources, investor relations, environment, facility management, procurement, compliance, innovations, ...) to the creation or implementation of an ESG strategy, enhancing the sustainability of activities or products and you would like to understand the big picture.
  • You take part in communicating sustainability topics (PR, marketing, internal communication, ...) or you want to start doing it.
  • You will be in charge of ESG report preparation and you need to understand what is ahead of you.
  • You need to understand what ESG regulations apply to your company and what needs to be done to comply.
  • You seek inspiration for more sustainable business.

This course can be attended by anyone who is interested in improving their knowledge and skills in ESG and non-financial reporting. It is suitable for beginners and it provides deeper insights for advanced participants as well. There are no formal entry-level requirements.

Completion of the programme focused on ESG & non-financial reporting is recommended before starting the optional modules.

After completing the basic modules of the ESG programme, you will receive a PwC Academy certificate.
