Ian is an international tax partner in PwC Law’s Toronto office. He provides advice to Canadian and foreign multinational companies regarding outbound and inbound international tax issues, particularly cross-border issues faced by companies in the financial services, real estate, and natural resource industries. 

Ian has written several articles for publications of the Canadian Tax Foundation and the Federated Press. He is currently a co-editor of the International Tax Planning feature of the Canadian Tax Journal. Ian is the 2015 winner of the Douglas J. Sherbaniuk Distinguished Writing Award presented by the Canadian Tax Foundation (with Ken Buttenham and Marianne Thompson). He has also presented on international tax issues at the annual conference of the Canadian Tax Foundation, and is an instructor with the University of Waterloo’s Master of Taxation program.

Ian is called to the bar in Ontario.
