Meet the new faces

Here are some quick facts about our three CMT members - Nurul A'in Abdul Latif (Markets Leader), Andrew Chan (Consulting Leader) and Soo Hoo Khoon Yean (Managing Partner).

Nurul A'in Abdul Latif, Markets Leader

Three things that excite Nurul about the future ...

What the digital future will bring:

  • automation and how it impacts the way we market PwC and interact with our clients
  • how  our business will evolve
  • how we will respond to digital transformation
  • and what we will learn from the millennials or the digital natives (who will form 50% of the global workforce in just three years)

Changes in the political, regulatory and economic landscape: how do we respond and help our clients navigate the challenges and opportunities?

Coming together as One PwC: how do we go-to-market consistently as a firm, and bring the breadth and depth of our expertise to address our clients’ needs?

What Andrew finds intriguing about the megatrends around him ...

Demographic and social change, climate change and resource scarcity, and technological breakthroughs are some of the megatrends that are causing companies to change their strategy and/or operating models. This creates a demand for consultants with insight into adapting to these changes. PwC is on the cusp of many of these changes, which excites me as it creates opportunities for our local team members to learn from our specialists across our global network.

I foresee more multinational project teams supporting our South East Asia (SEA) clients, thanks to the projected growth in SEA, which I believe will make our region attractive to global talent with the right skills and experiences. Growing SEA companies which are keen on entering new markets will contribute to this too, as they’ll most likely want advisors familiar with them and their target market.

I work with a lot of millennials, or ‘digital natives’. New technologies are disrupting businesses, and millennials will play a key role in helping us develop and adapt our services to support our clients’ needs. To a certain extent, millennials are also consumers who value experiences more than material goods.

It will be interesting to see them shape business models with this mindset. With their ideas, I believe we can help companies develop and implement more sustainable business models that balance economic profit with social development and environmental sensitivity.
