On November 16, 2018, a musical evening devoted to the great German composer Richard Wagner was held at the Kyiv Academic Drama Theater on Podil. The event was supported by PwC Ukraine and the firm’s Partner Slava Vlasov.
Commenting on this event, Slava Vlasov said:
“I can hardly believe that 10 years have passed since moving to the wonderful city of Kyiv and beginning my work at PwC Ukraine. To commemorate this, I decided to share my hobby - the music of Richard Wagner's genius - with my friends, clients and colleagues, and present to our guests many interesting stories of the composer’s life and works.
Unfortunately it is uncommon to hear music of Maestro Richard Wagner in Kyiv, and PwC is happy to fix this situation. We gave to our guests the opportunity to hear musical pieces that reveal Wagner's attitude to life, love and his view of the world. We invited maestro Yevgeny Gromov to play Wagner’s masterpieces. Yevgeny is one of the most renowned and distinguished contemporary Ukrainian pianists with more than 100 premieres in various parts of the world.
On November, 16th sounds of Wagner music for the first time filled the auditorium of the Theater on Podil. I chose this theater because its recent reconstruction was accompanied by the same amount of controversy and criticism as premieres of many operas by Richard Wagner.
I am excited to share the complete recording of the concert, and to announce that this is just the beginning of the tradition of exploring musical masterpieces with PwC Ukraine."
