Academic years can be an overwhelming journey for many students; they are a time of discovery, self-definition, and the pursuit of both personal and collective aspirations. As Kunsill Studenti Universitarji (KSU) proudly celebrates its 125th anniversary of alliances and student activism, we reflect on a legacy of representation, resilience, and the determination to drive meaningful change for students. This milestone coincides with the fifth year of our alliance with PwC Malta as corporate sponsors - a partnership that has continued to empower education, amplify student voices, and strengthen confidence to face tomorrow’s challenges. PwC’s ongoing support mirrors its values of building trust in society and working alongside students as they continue shaping solutions to today’s social challenges.
PwC is a prominent supporter of one of KSU’s most anticipated events at the University of Malta - the KSU Freshers’ Week. More than just a welcome to university life, Freshers’ Week is a platform for strengthening student activism by placing student organisations at the centre of the experience. This event serves as an opportunity to highlight the many ways in which students can engage, advocate, and make a difference on campus.
PwC has also supported KSU in designing a space aimed at enhancing academic experience: the KSU x PwC Malta Common Room. This dedicated room reflects the values of student activism by prioritising student well-being. It offers a safe and welcoming space that promotes both study and leisure, balancing productivity with the social element of university life.
During exam periods, PwC has also stood alongside students, providing late-night support in the form of encouragement and healthy snacks. These initiatives may seem small, but they play a meaningful role in easing stress and reminding students of the strength of community support during the most challenging times of the academic year.
PwC is also a valuable supporter of the annual KSU Career Expo. This is a three-day event where students can explore a wide range of career opportunities across industries and connect directly with potential employers. We believe that PwC’s presence at this event reinforces the value in empowering students through activism by preparing them with the skills, networks, and confidence they need to succeed beyond university.
Through these joint efforts, PwC Malta and KSU are delivering on their shared vision: that student activism is not only about advocacy but also about equipping students with the tools to transform society through their future professions.
As KSU celebrates its 125th anniversary, the 2025–2026 Council term promises to be a landmark year - one that will carry forward this proud legacy of activism through fresh opportunities, dynamic events and meaningful collaborations. Together with PwC Malta, we remain committed to creating valuable experiences that support students in discovering their purpose, finding their voice, and continuing to drive social change.
