As part of PwC Malta's tax team, I believe I have gained invaluable experience in my role as an Indirect Tax Associate. My role revolves around ensuring VAT compliance and providing advisory services, with an emphasis on supporting clients in the manufacturing, insurance, and gaming sectors. What sets PwC apart for me, as a Gozitan employee, is the flexibility and support I receive that enable me to excel in my role.

My career at PwC started almost 7 years ago, right after graduating and joining the firm's Finance & Corporate Managed Services department as an Associate. During these past years, I've been exposed to a large portfolio of clients, industries and accounting technical engagements, allowing me to grow further on a personal and professional level. I also had the opportunity to spend 14 months overseas on an engagement, allowing me to build face-to-face relationships with the client and their employees.

My journey at PwC began after completing my Bachelor of Commerce at university and embarked on my ACCA studies. PwC has been incredibly supportive, offering structured lectures and guidance through experienced tutors. Now working full-time as part of the Deals Advisory team, I actively contribute to various projects that continuously expand my expertise. PwC's vibrant environment has allowed me to explore diverse areas within Advisory, fostering growth both professionally and personally. Balancing full-time work with ACCA studies presents its challenges, yet the understanding and flexibility offered by the team have been instrumental in making a significant difference in my daily progress.

With over two years in the Risk and Regulation practice at PwC Malta, and backed by my ACCA background, I've gained a range of skills. From Internal Audits to Risk Management, Business Continuity Management and SOX Audits, I had the chance to work on various projects. What I truly enjoy about the job is discovering new industries, understanding new business operations and the continuous learning journey it offers.

Working across various teams and alongside diverse assurance clients, particularly those within the insurance industry, has been transformative for me. It's pushed me to adapt to dynamic situations, expand my skill set and embrace challenges outside my comfort zone. PwC Malta supported me greatly with the transition from academia to professional practice, providing me with invaluable real-world experiences and growth opportunities.

When I joined PwC as an ACCA student, I was met with a supportive environment which empowered me to grow both personally and professionally. I joined the Digital and IT Assurance (DITA) team almost 4 years ago. This has enabled me to gain knowledge in a more technical field of work. Through my work I also enhanced my soft skills particularly by collaborating with dependable colleagues and engaging in meaningful projects.

My journey at PwC has so far exceeded my expectations. With an accounting background, I leaned towards the technical team. The experience has been both challenging and immensely rewarding, allowing me to immerse myself in and confidently navigate complex accounting standards.
