The challenge

A leading hospitality group wanted to better understand how its performance compared with market and industry benchmarks and identify opportunities to accelerate growth. While the organisation was achieving solid results, management sought deeper insights into occupancy performance, average guest spend, revenue generation across ancillary services, and overall commercial effectiveness relative to competitors and market trends.

To support its next stage of growth, the organisation required a comprehensive assessment of its operational and financial performance, customer behaviour, market positioning, competitor benchmarks, and the wider outlook for the hospitality sector. The objective was to identify practical opportunities to increase occupancy, optimise revenue streams, enhance guest value, and improve long-term profitability.

Our role

We provided strategic, financial, and technology advisory support to help the organisation identify and prioritise growth opportunities. Through detailed market research, competitor benchmarking, operational assessments, financial health checks, revenue analysis, and profitability modelling, we evaluated business performance against industry indicators and identified areas where improvements could deliver measurable commercial value.

Our work translated complex data into actionable recommendations across commercial strategy, operational efficiency, customer experience, revenue optimisation, and business performance management. We developed a clear growth roadmap outlining the initiatives capable of driving increased occupancy levels, higher guest spend, stronger utilisation of services, and improved financial outcomes.

Recognising that sustainable improvement requires ongoing visibility into business performance, we also assessed the organisation's technology and data landscape. We designed and implemented a data-centric operating model supported by integrated reporting capabilities and interactive dashboards, enabling stakeholders to access timely, reliable, and actionable insights across operational, financial, and market dimensions.

What now exists

The organisation now benefits from a clear, evidence-based growth strategy supported by modern business intelligence capabilities. Management has greater visibility into key performance drivers, benchmark comparisons, revenue opportunities, and market trends, enabling faster and more informed decision-making.

By combining strategic recommendations with a data-driven management framework, the organisation is better positioned to continuously optimise occupancy, increase guest value, maximise revenue opportunities across its services, and adapt confidently to evolving market conditions.
