Mauritius is a signatory of the 2015 Paris Agreement, COP21, against climate change. Signatories are required to draft Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) containing targets for mitigation of greenhouse gas emission and adaptation to climate change impacts, to be revised every 5 years.
Since Mauritius is listed among the most vulnerable countries to climate change, reviewing the NDCs is necessary to define new commitments to curb greenhouse gas emissions and respond to the risks associated with climate change such as sea-level rise, coastal erosion and flash floods.
As part of the climate promise project, our client required assistance to build support and societal ownership towards NDCs.
