Senior Managers and Managers for our Assurance practice

We are recruiting Managers and Senior Managers for our Assurance practice.

Our Assurance practice is our largest Line of Service. We provide an independent eye while helping our clients make informed decisions in today’s complex business world.

As part of the PwC Assurance teams, you’ll have the opportunity to work on a wide range of audits on some of Mauritius, regional and global best known brand names. You’ll be constantly challenged to learn more, allowing you to provide clients with the highest level of quality services. You’ll be asking questions, testing assumptions and providing assurance that businesses are reporting information that investors and others can rely on.

As Senior Manager, you will be responsible for planning, directing and overseeing audit assignments with your team. You will lead discussions from strategy to execution with our clients while having key responsibilities, including:

  • Managing and delivering projects by developing the project team, assessing engagement risks throughout, driving conclusions, and reviewing / challenging the output produced by the team

  • Planning, evaluating, and improving the efficiency of processes and procedures to meet and exceed the expectations of our clients

  • Planning resources to fulfill the goals of the business unit efficiently and effectively

  • Establishing and maintaining relevant controls and feedback systems to monitor the operation of the business unit

  • Being actively involved in business development activities to help identify opportunities on new/existing clients, including the preparation and delivery of competitive audit proposals

  • Assuming a coaching performance management role that promotes staff development

  • Developing relationships with stakeholders, including your team, and build your PwC brand

  • Review performance data to monitor and measure the business units’ productivity, goal achievement, and overall effectiveness

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience operating in a similar work environment;

  • Be ACA or ACCA qualified;

  • Sound knowledge of IFRS and of international standards on auditing;

  • Proven track record of compliance with quality standards and an ability to balance an efficient and compliant audit;

  • Experience in the design of engagement procedures based on risk and materiality will be an asset.

In addition, the Senior Manager will be expected to develop industry and technical expertise in audit and assurance through written reports, management presentations and the production of high quality deliverables.

As Manager, you will be responsible for planning and leading assignments with your team. You will participate in discussions with our clients and our teams, while having key responsibilities, including:

  • Managing assignments until completion;

  • Being involved in the financial management of clients;

  • Analysing complex ideas and proposals to build meaningful recommendations;

  • Manage expectations of clients and act on their feedback;

  • Being involved in business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new/existing clients and add value to clients’ account planning;

  • Contributing to the development of your own and team's technical acumen;

  • Add value to clients by solving complex technical challenges;

  • Drive the business unit strategy;

  • Train, coach, and supervise team members; develop relationships with stakeholders including your team and build your PwC brand;

  • Resolve and escalate issues which may put the firm’s reputation and brand at risk.

 

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience operating in a similar work environment

  • Be ACA or ACCA qualified

  • Sound knowledge of IFRS and international standards on auditing

  • Proven track record of compliance with quality standards and an ability to balance an efficient and compliant audit
