Finance - Senior Associate

PwC Africa Limited, a holding company of entities in African countries, is currently recruiting a highly motivated individual to fill the position of a Finance - Senior Associate in our Internal Firm Services Line (IFS).
The incumbent will be based in Mauritius.

Key Responsibilities

As an enthusiastic and aspiring individual, you will assist in the preparation of financial statements, weekly reporting, monthly reconciliations and management accounts amongst other finance related tasks.

Requirements

  • University Degree;
  • Working towards an ACCA/ACA or equivalent qualification;
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role; and
  • Proficiency in Microsoft and computer accounting packages.

Preferred skills

  • Solid understanding of Financial and Accounting procedures and standards;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Strong interpersonal, people management and team working skills;
  • Strong organisational skills, including multi-tasking and prioritising effectively; and
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Risk Assurance (Internal Audit) - Senior Associate

PwC Mauritius is hiring Senior Associates for its Internal Audit team.

You will work with our clients to improve their governance by strengthening their internal controls and risk management processes. You will be responsible for executing a range of business process reviews and apply technical skills to develop internal audit and risk management strategies.

By joining our team, you’ll work with our clients to protect and strengthen every aspect of their business, and you’ll help them discover and unlock real value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the planning, execution, and reporting results of financial, operational and strategic internal audits;
  • Participate in the development of internal audit risk assessments, audit plans, and detailed internal audit reports and presentation materials;
  • Conduct audit testing of specified area and identify reportable issues and dimension of risk;
  • Review audit work papers prepared by the audit staff to ensure for quality and compliance with PwC’s methodology.
  • Establish effective working relationships directly with clients;
  • Contribute to the development of your own and team's technical acumen;
  • Be actively involved in business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new/existing clients;
  • Continue to develop internal relationships and your PwC brand.

Requirements

  • ACCA/ACA/CIA/CIMA qualified or equivalent;
  • At least 4 years’ of experience within similar role and sector;
  • Sound knowledge of IFRS and international standards on auditing;
  • Proven track record of compliance with quality standards and an ability to balance an efficient and compliant audit.

Preferred skills

  • Experience in evaluating and performing risk assessments;
  • Strong analytical and project management skills;
  • Identifying and effectively reporting any issues and recommendations for improvement to clients, as well as drafting the related sections of formal reports;
  • Ability to work effectively in different teams for varying periods of time, building good working relationships with both colleagues and clients at all levels;
  • Experienced in managing and developing junior staff;
  • Flexibility in your approach to meeting goals as part of the wider team;
  • An understanding of relevant regulatory issues;
  • The ability to contribute and create new initiatives and be responsive to change.

1Technology (Internal Firm Services) - Associates

We are hiring Associates for our 1Technology team which is part of our Internal Firm Services.

Our 1T team plays a vital role in implementing innovative technologies, technology infrastructure and applications while servicing internal employees of PwC. The team is passionate about service excellence and they continuously anticipate our employees’ expectations, seek their feedback to deliver value added services.

You will be the point of contact for all IT issues and requests and your main role is to keep track of these requests, find solutions and prioritise cases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the implementation of innovative Technology by ensuring customer satisfaction;
  • Manage and resolve all open incidents in a timely manner;
  • Partner with other IT teams on introduction of new technology to ensure successful implementation;
  • Be  the single point of contact  for employees regarding Technology use, Information Security, IT policies and procedures;
  • Drive a culture of change and innovation.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years’ of experience operating in a similar work environment;
  • Diploma/Degree in Information Technology or an equivalent qualification; and
  • Certification in Microsoft and/or Cisco would be an advantage.

Preferred skills

  • Ability to manage relationships at all levels within PwC;
  • Self-organised with a keen attention to details;
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written);
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team;
  • A passion for technology, innovation and improving the user experience; and
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
