Dheerend Puholoo 
Tax Leader
Dheerend joined PwC in 2008. He has over 30 years of experience in the field of taxation and advises large MNEs on tax restructurings both on the domestic and international fronts.
Dheerend is a recognised tax advisor expert, with landmark wins at the level of the Assessment Review Committee, Supreme Court and Privy Council. He also influences tax policy changes through his active involvement in technical committees. He writes articles for business magazines and is a frequent speaker on tax forums.
Dheerend also worked at the Mauritius Revenue Authority for over 19 years where he occupied various roles, including Assistant Commissioner before being promoted to Head of Section of the Large Taxpayers Department.
Yamini Rangasamy
Associate Director
Yamini joined PwC in March 2020 as a Tax Director after 31 years with the Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA). Prior to joining PwC, she worked as officer-in-charge of the International Taxation Section at the MRA. She has wide experience in handling tax investigation cases with huge tax yields. She has also been closely involved in the implementation of the minimum standards under the Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) project and has worked on tax reforms for the Global Business and banking sectors.
At PwC, she oversees tax compliance for a diverse portfolio of corporate clients, including multinationals and offshore entities, and advises on tax structuring strategies. She also leads tax litigation matters before the Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA) and the Revenue Tribunal (formerly known as the ARC). In addition, she is responsible for overseeing tax training initiatives at PwC.
Akshay Gowrisunkur
Associate Director
Akshay joined PwC in 2025 as a Tax Director. Prior to joining PwC, Akshay spent nearly a decade working at another big four firm in London. He accumulated significant experience in the UK, specifically in the Energy sector, leading multi-jurisdictional M&A and advisory engagements. He possesses significant skills in resolving complex tax issues and navigating the intricate international tax landscape.
In his current role, Akshay’s responsibilities include advising on local and international tax projects, leading investigations from the local tax authority, managing tax due diligence and structuring workstreams for clients worldwide.
Vidhisha Gunputh
Senior Manager
Vidhisha joined PwC in 2016 as a graduate recruit. At PwC, Vidhisha leads the tax compliance line of services and provides comprehensive tax compliance support to a diverse range of clients, including domestic companies, multinational corporations and global business entities across multiple industries.
Her expertise extends to assisting with diverse assignments such as evaluating tax consequences of group restructuring, mergers and acquisitions and conducting specialised due diligence from both buyer and vendor perspectives. Vidhisha also provides specialist tax advice on the application of tax treaties and is actively involved in dealings with tax authorities on tax litigation matters.
She currently drives PwC’s e-invoicing project from a tax perspective and supports clients with their fiscalisation obligations.
Gaivin Cheeneebash
Manager
Gaivin is a member of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) and holds a Bachelor (with honours) in Finance (minor: Law).
Gaivin joined PwC’s tax practice in 2016 and also has 2 years of experience working for PwC UK in the Indirect Tax department. He provides tax compliance support to domestic companies, multinational clients as well as global business companies operating in various industries.
He also assists on a variety of assignments ranging from tax implications arising from group restructuring to specialised due diligence work from both a buyer and vendor perspective. He assists in providing specialist tax advice on the application of tax treaties as well as dealings with the tax authorities on tax litigation matters.
