Business turnaround in general for a wide range of industries, crisis management
After joining PwC in February 2000, Osamu Kurata has been involved in business turnaround in Japan, with a particular focus on the business turnaround of individual companies in financial or operational difficulties. He has extensive experience in providing services to a variety of industries, utilizing a wide range of schemes, primarily, a voluntary liquidation, but also the Business Reorganization ADR, collaboration with public institutions and M&A. Osamu is also experienced in facilitation of the large number of stakeholders involved, including financial institutions.
Currently, Osamu is leading the Crisis Management team within Deals, PwC Japan. He comprehensively supports clients faced with a crisis due to various factors to seek for an early solution by establishing a team comprised of experts in various fields.
Prior to joining PwC, Osamu worked at a major non-bank (listed on the first section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange at that time) for 13 years. After the collapse of the bubble economy, he was engaged in developing the restructuring plan for his own company, negotiating with financial institutions.
