An agentic system that automates regulatory monitoring end-to-end — ingesting legal updates, assessing impact against company-specific context using a GraphRAG approach, and routing the right changes to the right stakeholders at the right time.
Regulatory environments evolve constantly, yet most organizations still rely on fragmented, manual approaches to track change. Compliance teams must monitor multiple legal sources, interpret each update, and judge its relevance across business units — typically under time pressure and with limited visibility into downstream impact.
In practice this produces an inconsistent flow of information: some updates are over-communicated, others are missed entirely, and ownership is not always clearly assigned. The result is delayed responses, compliance gaps, and growing exposure to regulatory risk.
At enterprise scale, manual monitoring simply cannot keep pace with the volume and velocity of regulatory change. Leadership needed a way to not just collect updates, but to assess their impact in context and route them reliably to the accountable owner.
Production
We implemented an agentic regulatory change tracking system that transforms how organizations monitor and respond to legal updates — moving from passive collection to active, context-aware impact routing.
The system operates as a continuous, intelligent workflow:
Connects to official legal and regulatory data sources and ingests new updates automatically
Evaluates each change against company-specific context — department profiles and internal documentation — using a GraphRAG approach over linked policy sources
Filters out non-relevant updates and surfaces high-impact changes, lifting signal-to-noise for compliance teams
Routes each relevant item to the appropriate business unit or accountable owner
Triggers timely alerts to ensure stakeholder awareness without manual chasing
Links directly with the internal Policy Assistant to highlight which internal documents may require revision
Rather than simply collecting information, the solution actively orchestrates regulatory awareness across the organization — turning regulatory change into assigned, actionable work.
Snet = Nanalysts × Hannual × Pmonitoring × Rreduction × Chr − Cplatform
Nanalysts = compliance analysts | Hannual = working hours/year | Pmonitoring = % time on regulatory monitoring | Rreduction = effort reduction rate | Chr = fully loaded hourly rate | Cplatform = annual platform cost
Example — EU financial services group, 3 compliance analysts, 30% time on regulatory monitoring
| Annual monitoring cost | 3 × 2,080h × 0.30 × €100 | = €187,200 |
| After 50% reduction | savings: €187,200 × 0.50 | = €93,600 |
| Platform cost | − €26,000 | |
| Net annual savings | €67,600 |
Illustrative estimate. Actual savings depend on regulatory scope, jurisdiction count, and team structure. Platform cost assumes Azure-hosted deployment with GraphRAG infrastructure.
